How
much are my union dues?
Monthly dues are based on your hourly
rate of pay. Generally, dues are 2 1/2 times the hourly rate of pay for
employees, with the minimum amount as $25.00. Public employees and
members who can not legally
strike pay 2 1/4 times the hourly rate of pay.

When
must I pay my dues?
Union dues must be paid in the month in which they become due. If you
self-pay dues to Local 315, mail your payment to arrive
before the last business day of the month. Otherwise, dues that are received
the following month, are considered late (CLICK HERE
to read more about dues). Some employers will deduct
your dues from your paycheck. You will need to complete an authorization
form for this option. Contact the Union Office for more
information. |
How
much is the initiation fee?
The initiation fee is a one-time fee that is
recognized at all Teamster locals throughout the United States. At
Local 315, the fee varies depending on the industry, and your rate of pay. Generally, the fee is
due within 31 calendars of employment, but payment arrangements can be
made. |
Will
my employer deduct the initiation fees?
Some employers will deduct the fees from
your paycheck in payments. You will need to complete an
authorization form for this option. Otherwise, a payment plan may be
available through the union. Contact the Union Office for more
information. |
Can
I transfer my membership from another union?
Former Teamster membership can be
transferred, which means you will not have to re-pay the initiation
fee. We will recognize only Teamster Local Unions, affiliated with
the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. You must transfer your
membership or deposit your withdrawal card within 7 days, to avoid
additional dues and fees. See

How
do I stop my union membership?
Your membership is continuous. If
you terminate employment for any reason or go on a lengthy leave of
absence, you may apply for a
withdrawal card to stop your union dues. All dues and fees must be current. It
will be your responsibility to notify the local in a timely manner.
Please See
IBT CONSTITUTION.

How
do I obtain a copy of my contract?
Newly ratified contracts take several
days for formatting and printing. Otherwise, copies of all contracts
are on file at your local union office. Contact
the Union Office to request a contract.
